Rebels vs Sutton
Whew! That was a close one! The Rebels built a 8-2, behind a strong pitching performance from starter Billy Ritchey, then had to hold on as the Godfrey team got close in the last inning, Rebels win 8-6. Sid Sarginson came on to get the final two outs via the strikeout. The Rebels had to overcome several questionable calls from the Godfrey homeplate umpire, calls that could have been the difference in the game. The umpire failed to call a hit-by-pitch that would have forced in a Rebel run and a Godfrey run was allowed when the runner didn't slide, or avoid a collision at homeplate.
