Jerseyville All Stars eliminated

The 12 and under Jerseyville All Stars run at the District 17 Double Elimination Tournament in Beardstown has ended. Rushville handed Jerseyville their second loss Wednesday night, 3-1. Jerseyville lone run was on a Kyle Obertino homerun, his second of the tournament and third of the postseason. K. Obertino led the team in hits, batting average, homeruns, extra base hits, and runs batted in. Congratulations to all the Rebels All Stars; Kyle and Lucas Obertino and Tate Bohannon.

Rebels All-Stars shine in Beardstown

Saturday, the Jerseyville All Stars played their first game of the District 17 Double Elimination Tournament in Beardstown and used a come-from-behind win to advance to next round. Jerseyville trailed 5-2 at one point, but battled back to tie it in the 6th, force extra innings and win it in the 8th, 6-5. Kyle Obertino was the hitting star with a homerun, triple and single. Tate Bonhannon had two hits, including a game-winning double.

Jerseyville plays Macomb at 8:00 pm Monday in Beardstown.

All Stars advance

The Jerseyville 12 and under All Stars have advanced to the District 17 Double-Elimination Tournament in Beardstown. The Jerseyville All Stars completed the four-team pool play tournament in Winchester with a record of 2-1. The Calhoun All Stars also finished 2-1, but Jerseyville was awarded the Pool C #1 seed by virtue of their 8-5 head-to-head victory over Calhoun on Wednesday.

Jerseyville and Calhoun advance to Beardstown. Jerseyville's first game will be played at 1:00 pm on Saturday 7/6.
